us at Orlando temple

When the family was in Florida in June, the adults went to the Orlando temple to do some sealings. Afterwards we got pictures taken outside. Other than the fact I'm totally not standing up straight, it's a really cute picture:

Shoes

So, I've been talking to my friend about some of my more extravagant shoes. Here are some pictures of them in all their beauty. The green one is my favorite :) The boots I won in a contest at a country-dance club when I was in college. Every weekend, Jake's would give you a ticket with your entrance fee, and you put your ticket in the jar, and they'd call a few names later in the night. Everyone whose name was called could come back (for free) on Thursday to be entered in the drawing for a free pair of boots. And I actually won once :) It was actually a gift certificate to a place in town (Reams) who sold boots, and you could pick out whichever ones you liked. Mine are actually a really nice pair by Tony Lama, something like $200 or so - and that was back in 1998 or so. Mostly they've been in a box since then, but I dug them up the other day because I want to try country dancing at a local place. We'll see how well I do :)

I do love the strappy green satin ones. I just have no excuse to wear them. The black and grey striped ones are kind of silly - that's a 4" heel on them. I'm lucky I can stand up and walk in them! And the toes are sooo pointy. However, it's kind of fun to have outrageous shoes. I think I'm a convert after being a sensible shoes kind of girl my whole life!

Attempts at making stuff

So, these are some attempts at making my own cute stuff. Any thoughts? PS If you're related to me you'd better like, since you're likely to get a similar bracelet for Christmas... :-P Posted by Picasa
